As a seasoned blogger, I’ve been contributing to this site for more than 10 years. I’ve been thankful to turn this once-was hobby into my full-time work, where my heart is poured into every word I write.
When I’m not working I’m playing tennis competitively, catching up on all of my favorite shows (Threads is where my TV hot takes live) or enjoying time with the family. I’m big on well-being and self-care; stay active, care for yourself, and eat well.
However, I also firmly believe in balance. My Recipes section definitely includes dessert!
When I’m not working, I’m with my husband, Kevin, our two beautiful daughters and our rescue pup, Bickell. The Burk’s love adventure, fantastic food and just living life to the fullest.
I come from amazing, hard-working, handy, artistic roots, My grandfather owned a paint store when I was a child, talk about some solid DIY lineage! Kevin is also very handy, and his hardworking hands have really fueled our DIY prowess.
Since moving into our house in 2019 we’ve already finished the kitchen, installed a patio and fire pit, landscaped the backyard, and installed beautiful farmhouse shelving in our main room. And that’s just what’s gone live so far as we’ve turned a builder-spec house into a warm and welcoming home.
