the one where we meal prepped, fed, exfoliated, washed and swam with elephants in thailand. 🐘♥️

kev and i still talk about this experience almost daily. it was a once in a lifetime experience to be able to care for and hang out with seriously beautiful, magnificent and kind creatures.

some photo highlights:
- first several photos are feeding the elephants/getting acquainted — one of the videos shows how they grab their food with their trunks, which was so cool to see in-person 🍌
- got brave enough to give em a smooch 💋
- there was one mommy & baby elephant duo and the baby was such a clumsy little thing it was the sweetest 🥺
- next, was the mud pit to clay up — this is like an exfoliating treatment for the elephant babes 🧖🏼‍♀️
- then we swam with them in the pool — SO COOL 🧽
- finally, we scrubbed them clean in the showers 🚿
- after a day of hanging with elephants we also got a hands-on cooking class where we learned how to make papaya salad and pad thai 🌶️

the sanctuary is a privately run business that raises money to rescue exploited and overworked elephants. i had NO idea what an issue this is. there are lots of ways owners can work elephants inhumanely and this park works to save them from that life, which in turn provides the elephants great care, human interaction and provides us with the chance to be around these fantastic animals.

lost my first ever singles match, but at least i looked cute doing it. 💁🏼‍♀️🎾

turned out my opponent is a literal champion in her bracket, which is also a level higher than me sooo i don’t feel so bad. especially since i played well, and that’s really what i look at after matches, so i slept just fine last night. 🌙

for my tennis girlies: this skirt is worth every penny! getting it in a neutral color too. sucks you right in and looks great on (and off) the court! 💯 (on my LTK)

still not entirely sure what the milk packet was for, but i didn’t factor that into their score. 😂

not gonna lie… overall kev said the food in these business class seats were better than most of the first class food he’s had on american airlines (i’m not shocked tbh)

on korean air they also provided ‘korean’ and ‘western’ food options so we got to pick, which is very thoughtful for a flight between south korea and usa. we had the korean option for all our meals and it did not disappoint!

on singapore airlines we had the chicken and pasta versus a fish option that didn’t sound as appetizing and that was fantastic too! truly top notch for airline food, and great food just in general.

thailand, by the outfits 👗

the first of many parts of our wild (relaxing) ride to the east. 🌏 pretty much all the clothes were amazon; shoes were target, walmart, nike. bags also from different spots.

SO happy with everything i brought but my absolute favorite piece(s) were the new linen tanks i bought specifically for this trip (pictured in green with white skirt, and white with palazzo pants). when you’re hanging that close to the equator you need to wear LIGHT clothing!

👀 swipe for a peep of the lay down seat situation we scored for our 15-hour stretch of flight back home. video to come!

may is the absolute best month of the year — my mind cannot be swayed otherwise — and here’s why… ☀️🌺🥑🎁🥩🎂🇺🇸

— the world has thawed, and we’re probably not looking at anymore snow
— time to plant flowers & bring beautiful color into the world again 🌸
— cinco de mayo usually kicks off my first batch of homemade guacamole for the season (recipe on my bio menu) 😋
— mother’s day, for those who celebrate, is a great excuse to congregate as a family and enjoy delicious food
— which brings me to… BBQ SEASON🔥 sure you can grill year-round, but it’s actually enjoyable when it’s above 50 degrees
— for me, may is also birthday month, so it certainly gets a line item on my list (plus i usually get a certificate for a really nice pedicure for mother’s day that i use on my birthday because self care gifts are my love language) 🧖🏼‍♀️
— many have memorial day off, and who doesn’t love an extra day off?? — especially when it’s the unofficial official start to summer⛵️
