There’s not always time to make fresh food from scratch, but that doesn’t mean dinner can’t be better-for-you. These Knorr Rice Sides have made our dinner planning incredibly easy. Note: this post is in no way sponsored, I’m just really love our newest dinner hack.
About Knorr Rice Sides
Answering some FAQs that I would ask if I were in your shoes.
How many people does one packet feed?
Each packet is easily two servings, meaning it feeds two adults or leaves you with a tasty leftover for later. One packet is a lot for once person to eat unless it’s your entire meal. Pair half the packet with a protein and maybe a light veggie and it’s more than enough for a hearty meal.
Do you need to add anything to the packet?
Other than water, or sometimes milk, no. All of these packets are plug and play minus the necessary liquid to cook the rice. They’re seriously so easy!
How many calories in a Knorr Rice Sides packet?
On the low end, of the packets pictured above, it’s 675 calories for the full packet (Herb & Butter) prepared. On the high end, it’s 800 calories for the full packet (White Cheddar Queso) prepared. Divide that in half though, and you have a modest yet filling 600-700 calorie dinner if you’re figuring in a serving of protein.
Knorr Rice Side Serving Suggestion
The Knorr Teriyaki Rice packet pairs well with salmon, especially when marinated in my teriyaki glaze. I like serving this in one of my giant Crate & Barrel bistro bowls and curling up on the couch for a cozy, informal meal over some DVR television shows.
The White Cheddar and Queso packet pairs well with de-tailed, pan fried shrimps, no additional seasoning necessary. Since this packet is the highest in calories as-is, just adding the plain shrimp will keep the calorie count lower. These packets are rich with flavor and don’t need additional seasoning, even on the protein.
A huge bonus? I see these on sale 10 for $10 all the time. Simple math tells me that my next ten meals for two will cost me less than my usual morning coffee each!
