While dozens of tiny nail holes in my closet worked fine for my city studio apartment, the idea isn’t exactly appealing in our newly purchased condo. I started looking into new, viable jewelry storage solutions for our new space. Here’s how I navigated ample out-of-sight jewelry storage in a small, 900 square foot condo.
Possible Jewelry Storage Solutions
No one has exactly the right amount of jewelry to be perfectly decorative and not overbearing. When I say this, I’m picturing one of these beautiful, rustic wooden jewelry racks. They have just a few gorgeous looking pieces and the rack doesn’t look the least bit cluttered. They’re cute, but not practical.
Tabletop solutions weren’t super appealing either, because our condo didn’t have a lot of spare surface space. As gorgeous as these jewelry storage mirror and champagne jewelry box are, they’re just not viable for my specific situation.
Standing Mirror Jewelry Storage
In addition to adequate jewelry storage, our new condo also lacked a full length mirror. This gave me an idea. I’ve seen the mirror and jewelry storage combo before, and had a very specific solution in mind, so the hunt was on.
Kevin’s mom was the one who ultimately found my new solution at TJ Maxx, and at a steal price of $129.
I wanted something modern and minimalistic to match the rest of our decor. Dark wood was also essential to match nearby decor. Not sure how much I’ll use it functionally, but I do love that it has a cute little lock and key for decoration.
Most importantly, the jewelry storage space is incredible. I mostly wear necklaces, then bracelets and some rings. No earrings since I don’t have pierced ears, but that storage space worked for some extra bracelets.
There’s even room at the bottom for my jewelry cleaning cloth and jewelry travel case and another shelf for Fitbit bands and accessories. Having everything jewelry in one place is such an organizational relief! This was such a clutter-reducer. I’m much more apt to wear jewelry when it’s not a hassle to dig it out of a drawer just to see if it matches my outfit. Plus, there’s a mirror right on the front to check my outfit. Doesn’t get any better!
Additional Jewelry Storage Solutions
Prior to my beautiful free-standing piece I had a few other jewelry storage solutions. Additionally, I have a few alternative suggestions for various living spaces.
Similar Free Standing Mirror Jewelry Organizers
Since mine was a TJ Maxx find, it is surely long gone or hard to find an exact replica of now. However, there were SO many options at other retailers in both similar styles and price points. Here’s what I found:
- Closest Dupe to my Espresso Wood Mirror Organizer
- Black Free Standing Jewelry Armoire
- Floor Length Mirror Jewelry Organizer Cabinet
- Frameless Rustic Jewelry Mirror Armoire
- White Jewelry Organizer Cabinet
Wall Mounted Mirror Cabinet Jewelry Organizer
While a similar size and concept to my jewelry storage stand, this one is wall mounted for those with little floor space to spare. I love that you still have the dual function of the mirror with the secret storage!
Plus, this wall mounted jewelry storage cabinet I found also has a light on the front. How convenient, right?
Wall Hanging Shadow Box
My previous jewelry storage solution was a hanging shadow box with tacks in it to hang my pieces. These are a great and versatile way to store your jewelry away without spending too much. I made a fun print for the front so it wasn’t see through and it matched my room fine. Your guests will never know the difference when they see your art on the wall. ?? The downside was that my jewelry collection eventually outgrew that box. However, it was an excellent, cost-effective solution while I was in college and didn’t have all that much jewelry!
How are you storing your jewelry? If you’ve got an innovative, gorgeous solution I’d love to hear about it! Share the details below in the comments.
