The Beginning of Beachbody

I wasn’t planning on sharing this journey until I finished a program. Then I realized that’s not really the point of this blog. We share the good, the bad and the ugly openly here. So without further ado, I’m on day 10 of my first program, 21 Day Fix, and my stance is clear: I stand behind Beachbody.

The Beginning of Beachbody

That being said, I want to take a moment to say that this blog is not turning into a Beachbody/fitness blog. This is simply one of the many great things I’m sharing with you. And if it ends up helping you too, that makes it even more worth the while.

Why Beachbody?

I’ve seen SO much progress and change in my first 10 days that I felt the need to sit down and write this post last night to share first thing this morning. Because it’s that good.

After 10 days on one of the ‘beginner’ courses, 21 Day Fix, I’m already down 5 lbs. FIVE POUNDS. Honestly, where has this been all my life?! This is after just half of one of the lower tier programs. I can’t even imagine what a longer, more intense program can do for me.

21 Day Fix came at a perfect time, too. If you have something coming up in the next three weeks and want to drop weight and/or tone, this program WILL do that for you. I started 21 Day Fix two and a half weeks before my bachelorette weekend and I already look and feel better. I can’t wait to vacay with my girls in my new body and mindset!

What Can You Eat on Beachbody?

Whatever you want. Seriously. It’s not meant to be super restricting. It’s meant to keep you on a generally healthy path. That’s why this program works for me. I’ve talked before about how I’m not a fan of restricting diets, so I was initially nervous to get on any sort of plan, but I’m glad I did my homework and signed up.

When you buy your first challenge pack you get all of the resources you need. It’s not even a ton of stuff, because Beachbody isn’t about frills, it’s about results. You get a set of containers that help you portion your food groups and servings. I use my containers as a guide for how much I should be eating without actually filling up the containers; just looking at them helps me visualize what I’m allowed for the meal/day.

Beachbody’s Pre-workout: Energize

I haven’t thought about going to Starbucks once while working from home since I starting this program. There’s caffeine in the Energize pre-workout mix that gets you moving and keeps you going after.

I’ve only been to Starbucks twice in two weeks and that was because I went into the office those mornings instead of working out first. By cutting out every other coffee run that is (shamefully) a savings of about $45. Which is just slightly less than how much 30 days’ worth of the pre-workout costs. I’m not only kicking sugary drinks, I’m saving money, and I’m here for that.

Beachbody Shakeology

Why Shakeology is Amazing

If you’ve seen a bunch of posts on your feed about how *amazing* Shakeology is, that’s because it IS amazing. You have to try it for yourself if you’re on the fence. It’s packed with amazing super foods to keep you full and healthy, not to mention away from the sweets. No, it’s not a ‘protein shake’, though there is protein in the mix. The main focus of Shakeology is the super foods, protein simply plays a supporting role.

What flavors of Shakeology are there?

Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Cafe Latte and Greenberry. All of these flavors come in a vegan variety except for Greenberry. To read more about each flavor or get some samples, check out the Shakeology section of my Beachbody Store.

What do you drink with your shake?

Personally, I have one one chocolate go-to recipe and one very berry flavored go-to recipe but the options are endles. Fruits and veggies are the most popular add-ins because they’re healthy and mix well with most of the flavors. There are thousands of recipes online for inspo. Once I’ve had the chance to try more flavors I may compile some recipes of my own. But for now, I encourage you to get creative with these common Shakeo add-ins:

  • banana
  • strawberry
  • blueberry
  • light yogurt
  • matcha
  • cinnamon
  • kale/spinach/other greens
  • almond/coconut/soy milk

Do you have to drink Shakeology during Beachbody?

You can start your program without the Shakeology, I did, and instead made delicious fruit smoothies after my workouts for the first few days. When you sign up you’ll have immediate access to your Beachbody On Demand (BOD) workouts and can start your program literally right then and there, and your shakes will arrive in a few days.

You can also buy the Shakeology without the BOD or vice versa, which is what I originally thought about doing, but I’m incredibly thankful I went full steam ahead on both. I can’t imagine having similar results with only 50% of the program.

Why Beachbody is Worth Trying

I feel:
-stronger
-toned
-more solid
-less flabby

I feel great! After working a full day downtown I walked a mile through Millennium Park, played an hour-long, fast-paced game of softball, walked another half mile to the train and did a 30-minute Beachbody workout immediately when I got home. I was tired, but I was able to do it. That’s 100% because the previous eight days started me on the right track. I got up the next day and did a 30-minute Barre legs workout first thing, too. I feel unstoppable.

And to me, that’s priceless.

If you’re interested, I’d love to get you more information. Everyone deserves to feel this good. Email me, or visit my Coach Homepage and Beachbody Store for more info. If you want it, sweat for it!
