Patriotic Cake Pop Ingredients

Making Patriotic Cake Pops

Melt the butter and mix with sugar until well combined.

Then, add your cake mix, flour, salt, and vanilla. Mix everything thoroughly.

Pour in desired amount of milk (I recommend four tablespoons). Then, add in the desired amount of sprinkles and mix well until they’re evenly dispersed.

Red, White and Blue Patriotic Cake Pops

Roll batter into 1″ ball shapes (they will likely be lumpy by nature, it’s okay) and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.

Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until firm.

Making the Cake Pop Coating

Melt 5 oz of melting candy in two different melting cups. These are the ceramic melting cups I’ve used for years. They’re a much cheaper alternative to the electric pots, especially since you need two for this recipe.

Melted White Chocolate

Once your candies look melted give them a stir. Chances are the candies are 99% liquid, even if they’re maintaining their disk shape. Stirring will be how you can tell they’re ready!

Add a few drops of food dye to each melted candy cup and stir to create a tie-dye looking swirl. Don’t overly stir to maintain a tie dye pattern when dipping the patriotic cake pops!

Dip each cake pop into the melting candy individually with care. You can either dip a half or whole cake pop, but dipping the whole one is definitely harder. My batch ended up being half and half and we’re SO delicious!

Once they’ve been dipped let the candy coating harden on parchment paper in the fridge. I let mine sit overnight and they turned out perfectly.

Viola! Insta-ready cake poppers for your America-themed festivities. Enjoy!
