We don’t know how long the quarantine will last, so we may as well make the best of it/get our chores done before summer comes and goes.
1. Clean your makeup brushes
When was the last time those took a bath? No time like a time where we’re constantly cleaning. Clean those while you’re at it. Use this makeup brush cleaning glove and this makeup brush shampoo for optimal results.
2. Audit your medicine cabinet
How long has that tube of Flonase been in there? Check the expiration dates and chuck ’em if they’re due.
3. Support small business, try a new local restaurant for carry out/delivery
We’ve ordered local carry out/delivery almost daily in the last week. If you’re able, help those who’ve been forced to scale back their business (restaurants, bars) and maybe even try a brand new place while you’re at it!
4. Bake AND decorate treats
We’re all putting on some #quarantine15 so may as well have fun doing it. We made the take and bake chocolate chip cookies but I decorated them just for fun. Because this is what it’s come to… (but really, it’s something different to do).
Wilton has the best icing packets ready to go for decorating, shop them here:
5. Start that DIY project you’ve been putting off
Kev & I have gotten so much done since we’ve been on stay-at-home order here in Illinois. It feels amazing and the house is going to sing once we can open its doors to friends & family again! We finally hung this old barn door on our bedroom wall that I bought for the space literally a year ago.
6. Learn a new recipe
The internet has not been cancelled. Get on Pinterest or Google and look for new recipes you’d like to try. Makes for an excellent date night idea!
Some other recipes you can try include:
- Spinach Skillet Lasagna
- Classic, Cheesy French Onion Soup
- Starbucks Bacon Gouda Breakfast Sandwich Dupe (pictured above)
- Kevin’s Homemade Philly Cheesesteaks (also make great wraps!)
- Texas Toast French Toast
- Pesto Mozzarella Chicken Sausage & Pasta Skillet
There’s also a BUNCH of recipes in my Instagram Highlights under “my recipes”.
7. Start a new workout routine
Everyone’s been saying it, but be the one who actually does it. Be the one in a million who actually come out of this quarantine with ripped biceps!
8. Try a Date Box
Not interested in hunting and pecking for recipes or date ideas? No problem – Happily has your back. Kev and I recently received their Japanese Staycation box and had a fun sushi night! You can sign up and fill out your interest profile so Happily knows what type of dates you’d like and will send you everything you need in one box.
On a budget? They also have e-date boxes for a fraction of the price. Have a look and use code FOODIESFITHOME for 50% off your first box or $20 off their other products (which are also very quarantine-friendly).
9. Get creative, really
Ever wanted to start a blog or another creative outlet? I may be biased, but it’s amazing. I’ve always liked to write and tell stories, but funny enough, my best friends will tell you I’m a terrible story teller. That’s because writing is where I shine.
If you’re at all curious about blogging, you need to enter the LadyBossBloggers giveaway I have going on! It’s totally free and takes very little steps.
