You don’t need to spend a dime to show love for your blogger or influencer friends. Trust me, every like, comment, share or re-pin is individually noticed and highly appreciated. Here are some ways you can support creators with little effort and no money spent. Plus, I’m sharing some insider info on what brands are looking for from creators when hiring them for campaigns.
Support Creators by ‘Liking’ Content
A double tap can mean the world to a creator. Some companies rely on initial content success to determine if they’ll continue their working relationship with the creator, which equates to additional income for the creator.
Brands typically request metrics that show how well liked and/or engaged upon a piece of content has been. A quick double tap while scrolling is very quick for readers, but can be a huge factor in whether or not the creator has another opportunity to work with that brand.
Comment on Creator’s Content
Even if its a few emojis, a new interaction with a piece of content pulls weight in social media algorithms. If you have time and truly like what they’re putting down, show some love in the comments! Commenting carries more weight than simply liking a photo because it shows a more engaged audience, which brands value more.
Support Creators by Saving Their Instagram Posts
Did you know Instagram has a “Save” feature? It’s on EVERY post but very few realize it. Even if you don’t plan to go back and look at posts later with this feature, hitting the “Save” bookmark flag will tell Instagram that you really like this content, thus showing it to more people (thus helping your Creator friend grow).
Curious about this little known Instagram feature? Access your saved posts by going to your profile and clicking the three lines on the top right, then clicking “Saved”. It really is very convenient, but if you don’t otherwise use it, it’s a great way to boost your creator friends!
Tag Friends in Creator’s Posts
If you genuinely like something and think a friend would enjoy it, tag them! It’s the quickest, easiest way to link someone to content they might enjoy. Plus, that means you’re leaving a comment at the same time, which is a huge boost for that creator’s content!
Save Blog Posts to Your Pinterest Board
This one is SO simple. No one really sees how much or little you’re individually pinning on Pinterest, it acts as a search engine. So you don’t have to worry about feed aesthetics or spamming your followers/friends with Pins. Pin away!
This is especially important if you have a creator friend whose content you enjoy. You’ll have their content saved for later PLUS they’ll get more exposure with every additional Pin someone saves.
At the end of all my blog posts there’s a bunch of save and share options. If you love it, please share it! <3 (try this feature at the end of this post!)
Support Creators on All Platforms
Instagram is undoubtedly the hottest creator/influencer platform right now, but chances are these creators have accounts on other channels. Many brands seek information on multiple platforms for campaigns because they want to include cross promotion in their Instagram or Blog content package. Having a showing on each platform is key.
Did you know I’m also on these platforms? Please give me a follow on any or all of these and let me know in the comments, I’d love to personally thank you! ❤️
The biggest, fully free way you can support creators is to subscribe to their email list. This list is the most important set of ‘followers’ they have. Creators don’t own their social media accounts. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc. own them. They can shut their platforms down at any time and creators don’t have a say in that. Creators will always have their website and their email lists. Show your support in the BIGGEST way possible and subscribe today!
