This home studio remodel features my blogging workspace, or what I affectionately call the ‘blog office’. This space, in our smallest bedroom is home to my blog equipment and anything related to blogging work.
I value work-life separation, even blog work. So, much like my first floor home office, this space can be closed off during non-working hours. Plus, Kevin loves not having random clothing and goodies scattered throughout the house. Win-win!
Before the Craft Room & Home Stufio Remodel
It was pretty desolate. Just a few boxes, a cube shelf and a few extra pieces of decor.
My ring light lives here but is always moved for filming because I never wanted to shoot in here.
Then you have the closet, also known as our games, crafts and misc. storage space.
This room was essentially nothing for the first few months we lived here. It simply wasn’t a priority over spaces like our main bathroom or our kitchen.
After: Finished Craft Room & Home Studio Reveal
It made a total 180 degree turn, right?! Let’s break down the spaces by function within my brand new home studio.
Home Studio Workspace
I reupholstered this bench for an updated look (you can see the previous orange floral in earlier photos or in this post). My wall art was actually a custom order (original, very similar design tagged) from Etsy and the frames are from Michael’s.
The desk is one of my few to do’s left in this space, but given the size of the current desk it works SO well, so I’m not in a hurry to buy a new one. May try and find a way to refinish the top and paint the metal to just change the aesthetic. Leave tips & ideas in the comments!
Home Studio Lounge Space
This bean bag is the BEST. It serves as a chill space to read, create or relax, and fits perfectly in here. I’ve also been known to pull it out into the loft to watch TV because it’s so cozy!
My Amazon clothing rack is SO affordable and pays for itself in convenience during my Instagram try ons. I highly recommend this piece to bloggers looking for a cheap, stylish way to wrangle their goodies.
Try On Mirror & Content Calendar
This calendar area may be my favorite space because it’s the command center of my home studio. I’ve been eyeballing an acrylic calendar for months and finally found a customizable one in my price point.
We tried to DIY an acrylic calendar and even as seasoned DIYers, it was just too hard. It requires more tools than the average DIYer has home and while we purchased the few we needed, we also ended up cracking the acrylic… several times. I highly recommend this one; the gentleman I worked with couldn’t have been nicer and my calendar was PERFECT!
Pro tip: hide markers in a cute decorative vase. You can’t even tell they’re there. Also recommend these clickable markers… so fun and easy to use!
