We’re all about New Year’s Resolutions in our house, but don’t believe they should include giving up things you love. For us, that’s dessert, indulging when out with friends and eating delicious, cheesy pizza on the regular. Thankfully, Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza exists because it has completely changed how we enjoy our pizza!
Better-for-You New Year’s Resolutions
Kevin and I are looking to make some better-for-you choices this year. We’ve started by taking a look at what we’re eating and figuring out how we can improve our overall eating habits. These are a few of the habits we plan to incorporate in the new year.
Eat Less Gluten
Last month, we discovered Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza. They conveniently come in our two favorite flavors (Four Cheese for me, Pepperoni for Kevin). This was key for us because cheese pizza never seems to fill Kevin up and I’ve always been a die-hard cheese-only fan.
While neither of us are required to eat a gluten-free diet, we like to scale back where able. That can be hard because it turns out there are way more food products out there with gluten than we realized including fries, cookies, pub pretzels, beer and our beloved frozen pizzas.
Stock Up on Better-for-You Meal Options
Having a delicious pizza that just happens to be gluten-free right in your own freezer is an amazing convenience. Having better-for-you choices on hand is a key strategy for keeping your New Year’s Resolutions on track (which we’ll dive into later).
Plus, having better-for-you options at home that also taste amazing is a huge bonus! We were incredibly impressed with the crispiness, flavor and 100% real cheese you get with Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza. Their crusts are also 100% preservative free, scoring major bonus points in our book!
Tips for Keeping Your New Year’s Resolutions
Use these key tips to keep your healthy New Year’s Resolutions on track for the entire year.
Make Healthy Options Readily Available
Having healthy options in the home will keep you from veering off track. Likewise, don’t stock up on unhealthy options or you’ll be tempted with bad choices. We always opt for low carb, lower sodium or fat free options of the products we normally get such as sour cream, ranch and cooking spray.
Know Where to Shop
Having a game plan ahead of time will make grocery shopping far less stressful and enable you to make those healthier choices right from the start. If you have multiple stops to make, separate your list by store so you’re not fumbling through your whole list at each location.
If you’re looking for our delicious Freschetta Gluten-Free Pizzas, they’re available in the freezer aisle of grocery stores nationwide. Visit the product locator at Freschetta.com to find a store near you!
Chop Vegetables and Meal Prep Once a Week
Are you seeing a theme? Having things readily available is a major key to success here. With the right choices not only home, but ready to consume you don’t have to worry about ‘hanger’ setting in when you’re hungry and making bad choices for you. This can include chopping a whole onion at once or washing the whole head of lettuce and storing in a container for grab-and-go use, for example.
Assess Food Supplies Daily
Keep a magnetic notepad on your refrigerator to add depleted groceries to it as soon as they’re out. If your fridge isn’t magnetic have a designated spot nearby for a notepad and pen.
