How to Use Extra Takeout Sauce Packets

Anyone else guilty of hoarding takeout sauce packets? Time to clean out that overflowing drawer and use them in your next dish.

My massive collection of takeout packets spans from the mild sweet & sours all the way up to Taco Bell Diablo sauce, and they can really be the unsung hero of a new meal concept when you least expect it.

Making a Takeout Sauce Packet Meal

This specific takeout sauce packet meal included a variation of my household favorite teriyaki salmon and leftover already-cooked rice noodles. Rice noodles were a first for me, which really brought out my creativity.

Rice Noodles and Salmon

Seasoning the Salmon

Much to my surprise, it only took one soy sauce packet to cover both salmon filets.

Seasoning Salmon Filets

Soy sauce, particularly the full flavor variety, packs a big punch so you don’t need a ton to make an impact. You only need one soy sauce packet to make two servings of salmon!

Seasoning the Rice Noodles

While my salmon was baking, I pan-fried the noodles stove top with extra sweet & sour takeout sauce packets. My approximately 1.5 cups of noodles used five sweet & sour packets.

While it provided good flavoring, I’d suggest also adding a bit of salt or seasoned salt because I definitely thought it could’ve used a little extra kick.

My Finished Take Out Sauce Packets Meal

My finished meal also featured crushed red pepper, Mrs. Dash southwest chipotle and seasoned salt on the salmon, plus the seasoned salt on the noodles.

The salmon was seasoned according to my already existing Teriyaki Glaze recipe, which is why there were so many additional ingredients.
